In the fall of 2013 my then boyfriend Nathaniel Chaney and I left our home in Northern California on two Kawasaki KLR 650’s with the goal of riding to Ushuaia Tierra Del Fuego – the El Dorado of the ADV community.
At that point we were complete newbies. We’d barely gotten our motorcycle licenses and I put the panniers on my bike the morning we left – I’ll never forget how wobbly I felt leaving my Mother’s driveway with those metal boxes packed to the brim.
The trip lasted approximately 7.5 months and we rode through more than a dozen countries on the way south.
Since returning home Nathaniel and I’ve gotten engaged and have kept riding both separately and together. This blog will focus primarily on my solo adventures as a female motorcyclist.
